Sylvie découvre les arts martiaux à 18 ans par la pratique de l’Aïkido. Passionnée de danse contemporaine, elle se forme à l’École de danse Irène Popard, puis participe en 1999 à l’ouverture des Ateliers de Paris avec Carolyn Carlson, à la Cartoucherie de Vincennes. Elle y rencontre de nombreux artistes, parmi lesquels Murray Louis,Dominique Boivin, Daniel Larrieu et Yoshito Ohno, dont elle découvre l’univers du Butô.

De 2000 à 2007, elle approfondit la composition et l’improvisation contemporaines auprès de la chorégraphe Susan Buirge à l’Abbaye de Royaumont. Elle poursuit son parcours artistique comme chorégraphe pour « Dix mois d’école et d’Opéra » à l’Opéra Bastille en 2007-2008 avec la pièce « Conte à rebours » et comme scénographe pour Les Anges de la compagnie Le Théâtre Sans Toit en 2005.

En 2009, son intérêt pour les pratiques corporelles asiatiques l’amène à se former au Qi-Gong auprès de Bruno Rogissard à l’ITEQG. Elle développe dès lors une recherche à la croisée de la danse, des arts martiaux et des pratiques énergétiques chinoises. En 2016, elle crée Qi-Gong Song, un solo présenté à Fukuoka, au Japon.

Entre 2018 et 2024, elle se rend régulièrement en Chine pour approfondir sa pratique auprès de maîtres chinois à Wudangshan, Shanghai, Tianshidong et Chenjiagou, ainsi qu’auprès d’enseignants du Shaolin Baduanjin à Dengfeng et au monastère Shaolin.

Inscrite au Collège des enseignants en Qi-Gong du CITEQG, Sylvie poursuit aujourd’hui son activité de transmission et de création. De 2019 à 2024, elle reprend et transmet notamment Fan Dance, la Danse de l’éventail d’Andy deGroat et dans la version Sylvester 2024, avec la compagnie Des Tournesols et Do Brunet.

Son parcours témoigne d’une recherche singulière autour du mouvement, reliant danse contemporaine, arts martiaux, Qi-Gong et traditions corporelles chinoises.

Sylvie discovered martial arts at the age of 18 through practising Aikido. Passionate about contemporary dance, she trained at the Irène Popard Dance School, then took part in the opening of the Ateliers de Paris with Carolyn

Carlson at the Cartoucherie de Vincennes in 1999. There she met numerous artists, including Murray Louis, Dominique Boivin, Daniel Larrieu and Yoshito Ohno, through whom she discovered the world of Butoh.

From 2000 to 2007, she furthered her studies in contemporary composition and improvisation under the choreographer Susan Buirge at the Abbaye de Royaumont. She continued her artistic career as a choreographer

for ‘Dix mois d’école et d’Opéra’ at the Opéra Bastille in 2007–2008 with “Conet à rebours” and as a set designer for *Les Anges* by the company Le Théâtre Sans Toit in 2005.

In 2009, her interest in Asian physical practices led her to train in Qi Gong with Bruno Rogissard at the ITEQG. From then on, she developed her practice at the crossroads of dance, martial arts and Chinese energy practices. In 2016, she created *Qi Gong Song*, a solo piece performed in Fukuoka, Japan.

Between 2018 and 2024, she travelled regularly to China to deepen her practice under Chinese masters in Wudangshan, Shanghai, Tianshidong and Chenjiagou, as well as with Shaolin Baduanjin instructors in Dengfeng and at the Shaolin Monastery.

A member of the CITEQG College of Qi-Gong Teachers, Sylvie continues to teach and create. From 2019 to 2024, she revived and taught, in particular, ‘Fan Dance’ by Andy deGroat, in the ‘Sylvester 2024’ version, with the Des Tournesols and Do Brunet companies.

Her career reflects a unique exploration of movement, blending contemporary dance, martial arts, Qi-Gong and Chinese physical traditions.
